Explore Ranca Upas And Situ Patenggang - South Bandung

Bandung is Indonesia's third largest city but lies close enough to Jakarta and offers cooler weather. Bandung features a large collection of Dutch Colonial architecture, as well as a beautiful botanic garden, zoo, golf courses and a wide variety of culinary offerings and family attractions. One of them is Ranca Upas.

Ranca Upas Campgrounds has excellent tourism potential, due to natural conditions and has a very beautiful environment, as evidenced by the number of visitors to this place at end of the week. Some of visitors, some are deliberately visiting this Ranca Upas campground to fill a weekend camping, or there is also a visit just for transiting that who happened to be traveling to the place of tourist attractions in Ciwidey like White crater, and so other. 

Ranca Upas has a very wide area of about 215 hectares. As one of the protected forest area in South Bandung. Tourist Attractions in South Bandung itself is at an altitude of 1710 meters above sea level, so that the air temperature in the area of nature is so natural is very cold and extreme ranges at 17 degrees Celsius until 20 degrees Celsius. Even when at night, the temperature here can reach the lowest temperature below 0 degrees Celsius.

When exactly this location reakreasi used as a place for tourists? Around the 1980's Ranca Upas has become a place of recreation and camping. In this area there is an area of ​​three hectares are used for breeding deer. It thus would make Ranca Upas have plus points compared to other attractions. 

On 22 until 23 of October 2016 are my lucky days, because I tripped to "Ranca Upas and Setu Patenggang" with @backpackerjakarta and I got some new friends maybe at arround 29 person and I also had an opportunity to see those beautiful place directly.

Finally the day was coming, On 22 October 2016, at arround 08.15 A.M we start from secretariat office backpackerjakarta, It is located at Mayjen Sutoyo Number 48, Kramat Jati district, East Jakarta go to Ranca Upas, South Bandung and left Jakarta used bus. Maybe At arround 02.00 P.M we arrived. We spend 6 hours to got this place.

Finally, we all arrived at the camping grounds Ranch Upas. Without thinking too much, we started to move to find a good position to build our tent and make quality time.  Surely, you curious about what activities we do ? See the picture below :

The time goes by, it was getting dark, the temperature was getting cold, all of us back to our tent an get dinner after that take a rest. Tomorrow on 23 October 2016, seven of us, prepared to swimming in the hot spring and the cost for one person IDR 15.000,-

In short, after swimming, we also returned to our tents, cook breakfast (spaghetti, nuggets, sardines, noodles and sausage) and started to close our tent after that prepare towards go to the last destination is Situ Patenggang. Yeay!!

Situ Patenggang located in Ciwidey, Bandung Region, is a lake and famous with their myth. But what I'm fascinated by is the spacious green tea plantation next to the lake.

Stone love that always be favorite place is the location because stone Love comes from a legend of West Java. This is where Ki Santang and Goddess Rengganis, a pair of lovers who must pass a difficult trip in their romance, finally meet again in this place.

This story can be read on a pictorial panorama painting Situ Patengan who were at the Stone Love. Local people also believe that if you visit the Stone Love with friends, the couple's relationship will be lasting. Situ Patenggang is a lake of interest to visit. You can get a variety of interesting stories after visiting the lake. The beauty and natural coolness, make you come back refreshed.

Ok next, at arround 02.00 P.M we already arrived at Situ Patenggang and prepare go to boat to cross to Stone Love IDR 20.000 / one person.

The time goes by, at arround 04.00 P.M, again and again, the weather was not on our side, after taking some photos at the Lake of Love, rain coming back and we prepare go to boat and back to the bus after that on the way to Jakarta and arrived at 11.00 P.M.

 

So, Life is actually short to have knowledge about everything possible, but travel provides you the opportunity to gain some of this infinite knowledge from around the world about cultures, people, places and food. Travel is a great way to learn about yourself and others.
